Straight Edge Stress

So I lead a pretty straight edge life now, but when I was younger I smoked like a chimney drank like a fountain. From the time I was, you know 1617 Until I was 2627 ish. It was a few years into New York that I quit smoking and drinking.

I think that makes certain things challenging. I know people that have addictions, but addictions provide outlets whereas I don’t. I think having a straight edge life not having those addictions means I don’t have an outlet. When I want to unwind I don’t go have a drink when things get stressful. I don’t go out and smoke or vape so it all gets trapped inside.

And I think that sometimes puts me at a disadvantage with people that are addicted to cocaine or people that are addicted to alcohol, or young people that are addicted to regular cigarettes. They have something I don’t and I think that is definitely challenging.

For me when things happen and there are plenty of other people that don’t, but when you combine that with not having family and living rural, just sometimes the smallest things can be the biggest, most stressful issues.
