Firebird for Sale

“The Firebird Blues (But It Still Looks Good)”
Verse
Bought me a Firebird, thought I’d found my ride,
Put a little money in and drove it full of pride.
Fixed this, fixed that, thought we’d finally won—
Then Firestone called and said, “Transmission’s the one.”
Got T-tops, Sirius, Bluetooth on the dash,
And a header kit included if you show up with the cash!
Chorus
🎵 Oh, Firebird, Firebird, you sure looked fine,
But you spent more time in the shop than you did on time.
I loved you, I fixed you, gave you every chance,
Now you’re twenty-two-fifty OBO in a Marketplace romance!
Clean title in my hand, come and drive her away—
I’m building up my Kia fund one breakdown at a day!

This is a V6 automatic badged as a Trans Am, but it is actually a standard Firebird.

2000 Pontiac Firebird – T-Tops – Clean Title – $2,250 OBO
Selling my 2000 Pontiac Firebird. Clean title in hand.
The car has recently started randomly stalling/losing power but is currently drivable. Firestone in White House inspected it, noted contaminated transmission fluid, and recommended that it be taken to a transmission shop for further evaluation. I have the Firestone documentation available. I’m selling it as-is as a project rather than pursuing additional diagnosis/repair myself.

Overall, it’s in pretty good shape for a 2000 Firebird and I’ve put quite a bit of work into it during my ownership. Good candidate for someone familiar with F-bodies who can do the transmission work or source one more economically than I can.
Included with the car:
• Extra set of T-tops (many sets, no joke)
• T-shifter
• Camaro shifter
• Aftermarket stereo
• SiriusXM adapter and dedicated satellite antenna
• Bluetooth connectivity
• Mounted microphone for hands-free calls
• Keyless-entry remote, plus keys
The SiriusXM equipment is installed and currently working with my account; subscription does not transfer with the car. Car stereo comes with remote.
Header Kit included, never got to install it.
Known issues: Firestone says it needs referred to a transmission shop. The airbag is present but needs to be properly installed/reconnected. Selling as-is with those issues fully disclosed. Check Engine Light is on. Usual dashboard cracks.
$2,250 OBO. Clean title in hand.
I’m not looking to trade or turn this into a long project sale. If you’re familiar with these cars and want a reasonably priced F-body project, send me a serious offer.
Saturday, August 29, 2026 update: I took it to Springfield transmission and had it looked at. It’s not something that’s going to fail tomorrow. I’ve been using it as a daily driver for a week. I’ve included the invoice below for transparency. It will still need a lot of work. But I’ve been driving it from the cross Plains area to West Nashville almost every day.
