Orphaned – Reflection

And so in going through all the times I was orphaned and orphaned. I think what bothers me the most in religious environments, religious circles, is people say, Well, you need to lean on God. You need to press into God. You’re not alone. God is with you. That’s all well and good, but it’s coming from people that have parents. It’s coming from people that have siblings. It’s coming from people that have spouses. You don’t know what it’s like when it is just you. I mean, yeah, of course I lean into God. Of course, I pray Of course, I rely on God. I may rely on God a lot more than the rest of all of you do. Because you have brothers and sisters and parents and spouses. But the bottom line is it doesn’t help to be told to do that by people that have so much more
