First Adventures

The first car I drove was a 1985 Honda Accrd. It was on loan to me. My sister got bought her own car. Unfortunately, I was not bought my own car.

So I borrowed a Honda Accord. It was a hatchback. We lived in a neighborhood where there were no hush tracks because they were all rich people. So unfortunately, that car got hit by a tractor trailer.

Then I had to buy a Honda Civic. That car got t bone on Bridge Road in new Cumberland. Look out for that mail truck. Mail Truck was blocking my view. I made my turn. I got t boned. So that sucked.

Then I got a Pontiac sunbird and a Datsun 210 At the same time. My Datsun 210 got impounded at the Maryland border at a toll booth booth because it wasn’t properly registered and I slapped one my own mom’s old license plates on so when we pay the toll by plate, I got caught and they impounded the car.

Then I got a Saturn SC to move to New York City and that became my stepsisters car.

The first time I had to speak or perform in front of a crowd I was in sixth grade and speech class. And I got like freakin high grade. And ever since then speech class was easy for me. demonstration was easy for me. Forensics was easy for me. speech class in college was easy for me.

My first big speech was on the history of Star Trek. And I went from Gene Roddenberry’s first pilot the cage all the way I think at that point it was a you know Star Trek Next Generation was premiering or coming to be Star Trek Five Star Trek for I think I took I took it up to Star Trek four.

But yeah, speaking in front of crowds been easy. I can preach I can teach I can do all that fun stuff. That is not a problem.

When I hear the word pride word association exercise to think of Dwayne pride from NCIS New Orleans, a character in the NCIS franchise Dwayne King pride.

So what was I doing when I first felt like an adult? Well, I drove from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to Columbus, Ohio, to see my friend John, the guy that got me into Doctor Who in Star Trek The Next Generation and all that fun stuff.

And then I drove to Fort Wayne, Indiana for the first ever transformers convention bought con 94 by John Carl Hartman student hotel in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Got the Broadcom breakdown transformer which is now worth a few $1,000 Although I sold mine and then another subsequent adventure I drove to Rochester New York, or the head, Bob Kahn with Peter Cullen Frank Welker, Vince Nicola Stam Bush, this special toy there too.

I got to meet Peter Cullen, the voice of Optimus farm, and those were my first road trips and I did them very well and I felt I was adulting then so I didn’t have any important conversations with my parents at that age.

Like they were gone.

So the first time I got stitches, I don’t even know they were in my mouth whenever I had though, I’m sure. Yeah, and they dissolve in your mouth. I’m sure it was when I had a tooth pulled or something like that.

First time ever stood up for myself was probably at Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance agency. Because I wanted a promotion. I didn’t get it. I felt I was treated wrong. I made it known. And that was that was just the way it was with a gentleman named Todd Masco.

Todd was always pretty cool in the department. I didn’t realize that the cards are stacked against me anyway, or at least I think they were. I was a farm a temp agency along with others. Three or four of us wait for a state job and I didn’t get it but my goodness, I stood up for myself.

My vision for the future I think I described it was my five year plan to go to Los Angeles, become an actor or singer or singing actor or an acting singer. And obviously that never came to be but that was my plan. That was my plan.

I did end up moving to New York City. I remember how, how four or five of us were going to move together and start a business and make it by moving day. It was just me talking about rejection, but I went for it anyway.

The best advice I received was probably a few years prior it was from a friend of mine named Dave MeV Radek, much older friend. And he came to help teach me how to dance Believe it or not in my bedroom. That was weird, right?

But he said that my mission was to boldly go where I haven’t gone before and I think always took that to heart. Always took that to heart just boldly go where I haven’t gone before.

It took me all over the world. And I think I’m still living that mission to this day.

First time I did something illegal was major illegal was probably underage drinking. I used to do that the doctor viewers group and then I remember we were in Chicago I think either in Chicago or Philadelphia at one of these.

Either the visions 90 convention or at the day with two doctors in Philadelphia for I remember I was drunk and we got pulled over and it wasn’t fun. They were just like don’t say anything and I didn’t. So that was kind of funny.

Things that motivated me and got me excited. I think right out of high school. It was genuine money, make money and make more money.

I enjoyed hanging out my friends after work. But really there was nothing but payday numbers one to 10 were probably payday because I didn’t have pads that didn’t have anything I just had payday.

I was definitely a loner. I worked a lot of overtime. I would work overtime in the in a closet that helps student loan applications just follow them on my own. I like myself and I took my own breaks and I let myself out.

When I started my business you know out of school, I was a toy collector and I put toys in a booth and a co op and I worked by myself at the co op and you know when I became a webmaster that’s also loner type of work.

So yeah, I’m a loner.

I think my competitive edge came out when I meet other webmasters that were after the same thing. I was mainly access to celebrities, and that’s why I was probably more competitive.

My relationship with the natural world outside the urban or neighborhood life was non existence. Can you say the word mosquitoes.

First time I went on a trip without my parents was probably those transformers conventions that we talked about.

I can also say went to a brandy concert although I do remember getting so drunk that my eyes dried out my contact lenses popped out and I was driving that to get out every few feet to look at the road signs and squint and see where I was going.

So, you know I already talked a little bit about the writing of the letter, but just you know in consideration of that.

You know, I would say not to worry that you will go on adventures all around the world. You will work with orphans that have nobody else you’ll adopt an orphan that has nobody else you’ll get to meet and work with your favorite singers.

Like Brandy and Monica. Your life’s gonna be full of adventure.

But right now you’re just gonna have to wait
