Belmont Church

Belmont Church, a non-denominational church in Nashville.

68 Music Square East,
Nashville, TN 37203

Service Time: 10am Sunday

Belmont Church has a legendary name in a legendary community. The name “Belmont” is recognized throughout the city of Nashville. I had the opportunity to visit Belmont Church on Sunday August 27, 2023. The short version is this church is very community focused in Music City.

Let’s start outside. Parking is very easy with access to a parking garage adjacent to the church. The garage spaces are plentiful and the church service is held in the building beside it. The building looks fairly traditional outside and inside as well.

Inside Belmont Church is where service is held. The lobby has a welcome table where I was greeted. Inside the sanctuary was seating, a stage, and a balcony with additional seating. It was pretty standard fare as far as churches go, as were the people which were pretty greeting happy.

I was greeted several times. At some point it gets awkward the number of people that come up to you or at least it did for me. I filled out the new visitor QR code card which resulted in an autoresponder from Planning Center which I thought was interesting. The service then started with standard worship.

As the service started, there was worship followed by communion. Communion was interesting if nothing more than the use of a hole in the back of the chairs to discard one’s communion elements. I found that to be ingenius. After communion, the service continued with more segments before the main message.

The service continued with a few segments that included a review of the core values of Belmont Church as well as a review of their recent Wednesday night activities. This seemed to be congruent with their community values. There some testimonials both in person and via video as well as a message on community. The service was generally a recruitment tool for their small groups at this non-denominational church in Nashville.

While it was out of place for me as a visitor (I ended up leaving early), I thought that it was pretty good for people who live in Nashville and are looking for community and connection. Belmont Church lives up to it’s desire to foster community in Music City.

Update: Belmont Church, non-denominational church in Nashville, uses a function of Planning Center Online to handle visitor contact cards. I did get a reply from them. What struck me about Belmont Church is it seems to be a great and perfect fit for people who live in the city of Nashville – specifically the Belmont area. It doesn’t strike me as a church home for those who may live in other parts of Middle Tennessee but for those living in the immediate 5-10 mile radius, it strikes me as a perfect fit for Mon-Sat community, support, and activities.
