The church tour continued with a visit to West End Community Church. This church reminded me a lot of the efficiency and layout of an airport. Efficiency started at the parking lot, thru communion and the end of service.
Approaching the church there are all kinds of signs in the parking lot guiding people where to park. There is plenty of parking including visitor parking towards the door, however I ended up choosing some parking further away but oddly closer to the door, because it was a level above but a straight shot to the door. A sign in the parking lot guided me to the main door.
Once inside the main door, there is a greeter and a long corridor with security nearby. The building interior seriously had an airport vibe to it. I was handed a paper bulletin which I hadn’t seen since childhood, as well as offered coffee at a coffee station situated outside the sanctuary of this non-denomnational church in Nashville.
Inside the sanctuary it resembled a school gym or cafeteria with the wooden floors and stage. There was plenty of seating which was spaced out in a way you could sit far from people if desired or close if desired. The efficiency of the seating was just the beginning.
As the worship set started, the service’s efficiency was on full display. The team zipped through a few songs after which time there was some read-and-respond followed by the offering and a message. After the message came communion.
Communion was pretty speedy. Instructions were given and sections were dismissed to get the elements. Gluten Free communion was offered as well in a pre-packaged form. I was sitting right in front of the elements so I just turned around and grabbed some. As fast as it was, my bread was stuck in the cup so I fell a bit behind in actually partaking the elements so as they were finishing I was still trying to get the bread out of the cup. But they kept to a tight clock.
After communion there were a few other items including more read-and-respond and then dismissal. Just as efficiently as it started, it ended nearly 70 minutes to the minute. This efficiency would be great if you were trying to do church and a Titans game. People made swiftly for the exit.
Overall, West End Community Church, a non-denomnational church in Nashville, ran a very efficient service. The airport vibe worked in it’s favor from the parking lot, to service and back to the parking lot again. This is definitely a good choice if you want to get-on and get-gone while taking down a cup of coffee in between!
I rarely see proper CCLI data displayed. Bonus points for that for West End Community Church. I recently read up on how CCLI data is supposed to be displayed thru ProPresenter 7.
