Legacy Church Nashville popped up on my Facebook feed several times and thus warranted a visit. I had the opportunity to visit this church on Sunday August 13, 2023. The short version is this is a very youthful diverse church with a fairly well prepared pastor worth visiting.
Let’s start outside. The parking lot is multi-tiered but I chose to come for the 9am service where parking was easy. The entrance was on the upper level so there was a little bit of a walk but I’m pretty sure there was an easier way to go about it than I did. Inside is less complicated.
Inside the Legacy Nashville church building is where the church service is held. I was greeted by a pair of door greeters as I walked in the lobby. I proceeded to sit in an area soon to be roped off however I was advised I would be permitted to sit there. The tech presence was huge with a camera at center, stage display on the back wall, audio / video booth, etc. I was glad to be greeted but not smothered. As people filed in, the church’s diversity was on full display with different races, some senior citizens, and some families. As service started, the church seats quickly got filled.
As service started, so did the enthusiasm. The worship set and team and ensemble were full of energy. The worship team was diverse with people of different colors up on the stage. The sound was pretty good and the LED wall displayed the lyrics along with the stage display on the back wall. The worship was fairly fast moving – whereas what was to come was fairly deliberative at this non-denominational church in Nashville.
The message was fairly well thought out and delivered. The Legacy Nashville pastor opened with a recap of his family vacation to Florida / Disney. It was good and refreshing to hear of a Pastor actually doing proper self-care for himself and his family. The pastor then continued with a message on how to pray, how not to pray, and a look at the Lord’s prayer (Matthew 6:5-13). It was very thoughtfully done given the time constraints of 3 services a morning. He had a great attitude and also gave some clarity on new age contexts vs. Christianity. Overall he seemed good on the content and delivery. He was also fairly punctual, as the service drew to a close.
As the service closed at Legacy Church, a non-denominational church in Nashville, there were a few announcements, then the rush to the parking lot as there were other people looking to park. Legacy Nashville was a pretty good experience and it’s definitely worth the visit.
